Subject:Update from Tuesday
Time:10:52 am
Last night I rode around waiting for Amazon.com to call me. Finally they called at 6:15. It was an okay conversation BUT the fact that it's a downward step for me. Smaller facility, less responsibility and a drive to Northern Kentucky. We'll see. They might not even call me back because I did voice my concern with the fact that it might be a step down for me. I'm not sure if I want to take that step.

Don't know if I mentioned this but Sun Chemical called and they told the recruiter that they didn't want to interview me just yet but they want to have a conversation tomorrow about the job. They've had a difficult time filling the position and I think they just want to rally the troops and see if there's something they want to do differently. Apparently he has my resume and is interested though, so we'll see. Right now, that's my best bet. If Sun doesn't work, there's an opportunity at Pole Zero for an HR Manager. That's more like what I do here. Mfg. Small plant (200 people, so it's a little larger) with no HR function right now. The good thing is it would be all mine. The bad thing is that you never know how much change can be made in a private company. I'll have to meet the people to figure out what the opportunity is really like. Lastly today (in an hour....man time flies!) I meet with Sherri and her current boss to discuss an opportunity at Fidelity. I'm trying to act excited about it but it would be a major adjustment for me. It's not HR. It's a relationship manager. I'd be dealing with customers and their 401k accounts. Not too far removed from HR but at the same time I'd be out of the loop. I don't know if I like that. I like being involved in the business. Also, I'd lose my office and I'd be stuck in a cube. Hmmmmmmm. There are good benefits thought, 3 weeks vacation, good pay. I dunno. Might be a good change, who knows. We'll see.

The guy who hurt himself might get to keep his fingers after all. We'll know more in a few days. That's not saying that he'll have full use of them though. That's yet to be seen. Time will tell. Poor guy.

Okay, gotta get back to work. Working on revamping our lock-out-tag-out procedure and policy. Adios.
